Some of us went to a local home for a hands-on demonstration of how to make traditional
Bulgarian banitsa, a pastry prepared by layering whisked eggs, dough and cheese. We had an
opportunity to make our own banitsa. And we watch a demonstration of how to make home-curdled yogurt.

Serbia is known for its brandy - and its sljivovica (traditional plum brandy) was added
in 2022 to UNESCO's list of "intangible cultural heritage" as a cherished tradition to be
preserved by humanity. We took part in this tradition and awakened our palate by sampling
a few types of brandy accompanied by delicious regional appetizers.

Just outside Novi Sad in Serbia we went to the village of Cenej. There, we were welcomed
at a local farm. We learn how to prepare traditional Vojvodina cuisine by the grand-mother who
owns the farm. After the hands-on demonstration, we enjoy a taste of the culinary creation.
